Everyone has a different perception of “success”, and there isn’t a one-size-fits-all perception. We see Facebook ads and articles online with a rags to riches story, and online entrepreneurs trying to teach you how to be successful “just like them”. The fact of the matter is, we determine our own success, and our perception of success will constantly change as your business changes and grows.

- We are not meant to be the hero of the story. We are the guide, and our students, readers, or clients are the heroes. Meaning, we shouldn’t try to teach people to duplicate our perception of success, but guide them to create their own.
- People are chasing success, but they don’t know what success looks like because it’s different for everyone.
- Envision your success as far into the future as you can, but allow it to shift with your business.
- When you see courses that promise “success” in one way or the other, ask yourself why this is important to you. What is the end result, and does that get you closer to your big picture of success. It should not be some arbitrary number like Facebook followers, etc.
- Many people boost posts on Facebook to get “online authority”, but what does that really mean?
- Your goal as a business owner is to make an impact, not making sure you have a million people who like you.
- Be very careful not to buy into someone else’s perception of success. Find out what success looks like to you first, then determine what you have to do to get there.
